Seminário 16/08/2019
Dia 16/08. Horário: 13:00 hs. Local: sala A-105-0.
Palestrante: Prof. Zhanna G. Kuznetsova (UFABC)
Título: Emmy Noether: Life and Science. An Invitation to Celebrate
100(1) Years of Noether´s Theorems.
Resumo: "The world gave her nothing but obstacles. - She gave us one of the
most powerful theorems in physics" (Noether circle at the Perimeter
Institute).
The Noether´s theorems establish a connection between the two most
important ideas in science: conservation laws and symmetries of Nature.
In the first part of the talk we will remember life of Emmy Noether,
discussing her life, oficial career and three different periods in the
research. After we will review Noether theorems and symmetries and their
impact to different areas of physics up to now. The talk is more
historical, but in this case history and science are inseparable.

Nesta palestra, exploraremos alguns
aspectos deste problema, relacionando a Conjectura de Borel a
propriedades topológicas envolvendo jogos infinitos.
